ANNEX D, to the 5th Annual Ultimate Marauder Competition, OBSTACLE COURSE.
- OBSTACLE COURSE. Each Marauder team will negotiate this 12 event Obstacle Course. It is a very demanding course, both physically and mentally! DO NOT attempt this course to get into shape; get into shape to complete the course! All obstacles are listed in the Army Physical Fitness Manual FM 21-20.
- Belly Buster. Negotiate the rolling log, by going over the top of it.
- Inverted Rope Descent. Climb up the tower, get on the rope, feet first, and do a reverse crawl. Always keep three points of contact with the rope. Upon crossing the dead one, drop your feet to the ground.
- High Step Over. Negotiate this obstacle, with the use of NO hands. Obstacle is approximately 3 feet high, and 2 feet apart. There are approximately 23 of these step-overs which must be stepped over.
- Run, Dodge, and Jump. Series of saw horses, which must be run around, and follow the arrows as you negotiate this obstacle.
- 15-Foot Wall. Negotiate the wall using either route. The left side has climbing holds. The right side has a rope, and a few climbing holds. Spotters will be in place also. Once across the top, and on the platform, descend the ladder.
- Roll Logs. A series of three logs are mounted, and roll. You must cross this obstacle.
- Monkey Swings. Cross an area, using 6 dangling ropes, at various heights, and not touching the ground. The 6 ropes are not stationary. They move forward and backward, and from the left to the right.
- The Tough One. Scale this obstacle, which is 6 feet high, cross the top on 2 x 4s, and then go across a cargo net, which is approximately 30 feet long.
- Reverse Climb. Scale a ladder, which is tilted, from the backside. Go over the top and down the front side.
- Jump and Land. Walk up the incline steps, grab the rope and hand walk until your feet are on the ground.
- Inclined Wall. Scale this 8-foot high wall, from the backside. Swing over the top, and lower yourself to the ground.
- 8-Foot Wall. This is a vertical wall which must be negotiated.
- Trophies will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams. Individual medallions will be awarded to the top three male and female, also.
- Uniform will be BDU shirt, trousers, and boots.
- Penalties will be assessed throughout this course. They will be added to your overall times.
